I’m Tiffany and I created Roving Realist to share my travels with you. I fell in love with travel a few years ago and I have committed to taking myself on as many trips as possible throughout the year when I’m not working. For me travel brings me back to the center. It shakes up my norm, introduces me to new things and ideas, and challenges me to overcome the obstacles that occur while dwelling in foreign lands. There’s truly nothing like it, so needless to say I’m hooked!
I’m originally from Alabama, but I currently live in Los Angeles. There’s always something to do or see where I live, so you’ll see L.A. featured here quite a bit. Although I do live in a great destination, the pace of life here warrants a proper getaway as often as possible.
This is not a blog that will tell you how to quit your job to travel full time, because I don’t have that desire. I also worry that travel, like everything else, will start feeling like a job if I treat it like one. More importantly, I don’t necessarily hate my line of work. I produce TV shows, news programs and cast reality shows for a living. Not your average 9 to 5 that’s for sure.
The name Roving Realist is derived from my uncanny ability to keep it real and see things as they are, not just as I want them to be. The name also comes from my line of work. As someone who works in the media, I constantly consume real stories and also tell real stories about real people, places and things. The truth is always stranger than fiction and often more interesting too. This blog will share some of those findings with you and I hope that you will share your stories with me as well.
I live a very spontaneous life and no two days are ever the same. When I’m traveling, I consider myself a nightlife connoisseur. Don’t judge me if you see a cerveza in my left hand and a mojito in my right. I talk to strangers, I get lost, I make mistakes and I love every minute of it.
